2018 NCAA Women's Tournament First & Second Rounds

Make it back-to-back years that Florida State Women’s Basketball plays host to the NCAA First and Second Rounds as a No. 3 seed.

The second-round game between FSU and Buffalo takes place on Monday night at 6:30pm. The winner of Monday’s second-round matchup will head to Albany, New York.

The Top 2 seeds in the Albany Regional include top overall seed UConn and No. 2 seed South Carolina.

Fans can buy their all-session passes for the first and second rounds by going to Noletickets.com. An all-session pass for all three games is as low as $20 in the general admission seating area and $30 in the reserved section.

Florida State continues its impressive streak of reaching the NCAA Tournament in 13 of its last 14 seasons. Since becoming sanctioned by the NCAA in 1981, Florida State Women’s Basketball made the NCAA postseason just three times. Since head coach Sue Semrau arrived in 1997, Florida State has made 14 NCAA Tournament appearances. Overall, FSU has 17 appearances.

It is the fifth time FSU has been selected as a No. 3 seed, only bested by a No. 2 seed in 2015.

The Seminoles will be hosting the NCAA First and Second Rounds for the third time in the last four seasons, having reached the NCAA Sweet 16 the previous two times it hosted under the current format that began in 2015.

FSU enters the NCAA postseason with the eighth-best RPI in the country and the 12th-best strength of schedule. The Seminoles recorded eight wins against the Top 55 RPI teams, highlighted by a road win over eventual ACC regular-season and post-season champion Louisville.

Florida State also received its final Associated Press Poll ranking of the season, ending the regular season at 11th. The Seminoles join UConn, Notre Dame, South Carolina, Baylor, Louisville, Oregon State and Stanford as the only teams to garner a Top 15 final AP rank in each of the last four seasons.
